Full Stakeholder Engagement

Our initial consultation engagement with a client is to require a property visit to inspect the condition of the sash windows. During the engagement an initial inspection is undertaken, which includes a physical survey and measurement of the windows.  In addition, we provide a detailed overview into our process of completing your sash window project and fulfillment of your particular needs.

Following the initial engagement, we produce a number of reports based on the measurement data and survey. These reports include:

  • Condition Report
  • Schedule of Works
  • Quotation

As well as clearly outlining the project plan, these reports are key documents required by clients applying for a Heritage Grant or for those engaging with Conservation Officers.

Complete Renovation Services

Restoration is a very cost effective solution in getting the most out of your timber sash windows. As part of this service we provide a number of bespoke enhancements that can improve the life, aesthetic, and energy efficiency of your windows.

These include:

  • Replacing timber parts by splicing in new timber into effected parts.
  • Completing replacement of window components like the sill at the bottom of the box frame.
  • Replacing broken/cracked glass and replace any missing putty.
  • Replacing rotten timber by splicing new or filling out with two part epoxy wood filler.
  • Priming replaced timber to be ready for painting.
  • Refitting window sashes with new cords, rebalancing sliding sashes and installing new draught seals.

Below is an example of a window that has gone through the processes above.

Ensuring Quality

When sash windows are beyond repair we can manufacture new windows that will fully replicate the existing window but with the benefits of newer materials. Even in cases where there is Heritage and Conservation Officer involvement, the use of more energy efficient materials (eg slimline double glazing) is still possible. However, this is dependent on having clear lines of communication and detailed documentation of the intended design and installation of the sash window.

The benefit of choosing us for these projects is that we manufacture as well as install all types of window frames to comply with local conservation regulations.
